Do you love animals? Do you want to help them? Do you want to have fun doing it? If your answer is yes then we invite you to come and play CASI bingo. CASI is an all volunteer non-profit dedicated to raising money to build and equip the new animal shelter play yard and assist with spay/neuter costs for low income pet owners in the Carson City area.

Community Super Bowl Workout with Kaia FIT

Come join Kaia FIT for a FREE Super Bowl Community workout. Bring your friends and family, kids and spouses welcome too. Childcare will be available for children under six. Kids older than six will be able to participate in our workout. A $5 suggested donation for non-members will be donated to the Tumbleweeds Gymnastics Team.

Muscle Powered Weekly Bicycle Ride

Repeats every week until Sun Dec 31 2017 .

Meet Sundays at 9:00 am at the Fremont Elementary School, 1511 Firebox Road, in the south parking lot, next to the Linear Ditch Trail.

Ride is free and will normally consist of two loops which are 10-15 miles long each, this will allow a rider to do 10-15 miles or 20-30 miles depending on the loops. The ride pace will vary depending on rider level, but will usually be about a 12-16 mph pace. This is a no drop ride.

Dayton Valley Chili Cookoff and Superbowl Party Benefits Food Pantry

The Dayton Chili Cookers are again partnering with Healthy Communities Coalition’s Dayton Food Pantry for a big chili cookoff, Superbowl party, silent auction,and raffle to benefit the Pantry.

The event begins at noon on Sunday, February 5th at the Dayton Valley Golf Course and Grill. Judging begins at 1 p.m.

On Tuesday, February 7, the Capital City Arts Initiative [CCAI] will present a talk by artist Phyllis Shafer. Her illustrated talk, "Painting on the Outside", is part of CCAI’s ongoing Nevada Neighbors series and will take place at 7pm at the Community Development building [the Brick], 108 E Proctor St, Carson City. There will be an informal reception for Shafer preceding the event at 6pm. The presentation and reception are free, and the public is cordially invited.

Carson City Parks and Receation Easy Walk to Kings Canyon Trail

February 7, 2017 - 9:00am

Meet in the parking area on Kings Canyon Road just west of Kingsview Way.

Easy Walk Program: Water and closed-toed shoes required. Walks of 1 to 2 miles in length with none or negligible elevation gain, and frequently paved or smooth paths. The walks will usually be of approximately one hour in duration. If it rains or snows, meet at the Multi-Purpose Athletic Center (MAC) at 1860 Russell Way.

Muscle Powered Evening Conditioning Hikes Program:

Evening hikes of 4-6 miles in length with an elevation gain, sometimes over 500 feet and usually on single track trail. The evening hike will usually be 1 ½ hour duration or more.
